Great House Hlaalu - Stronghold Guide
Here's what you'll need to accomplish to build your stronghold:
NOTE: Don't wait for progress at the Odai Plateau.. you'll just get things stuck until the day after you leave.
First Stage of the Hlaalu Stronghold
Minimum Rank: Kinsman
Steps:
- Talk to Dondos Driler in the Balmoran Hlaalu Council Manor.
- Dondos will tell you you need:
1) A land deed from Baren Alen at the Vivec Hlaalu Vaults (adjacent to the Hlaalu Treasury), and
2) A construction permit from Duke Vedam Dren in Ebonheart.
- 5-6 days later, you should get a Journal note saying you should check on your stronghold.
- Talk to Dondos Driler about your stronghold and get sent to the Odai Plateau (don't go there until after Dondos sends you there; the foreman won't say anything useful)
- The foreman, Durbul gro-Rush, gives you a message to pass back to Dondos (what, they can't afford a messenger boy so they use you?)
- Talk to Dondos about your stronghold again, and another 5-6 days later your stronghold's 1st stage should be done.

Second Stage of the Hlaalu Stronghold
Minimum Rank: Kinsman
Steps:
- Talk to Dondos Driler.
- Dondos will tell you you need to cure the blighted kwama queen of the Shurdan-Raplay mine.
- If you don't already have the ability to cure another of a blight disease, there are a few ways:
- Buy a scroll of Daerir's Blessing from Hetman Abelmawia in his house in Gnisis,
- Buy the spell Rilm's Gift from Saras Orelu (Molag Mar, Temple) or Folvys Andalor (Ald'Ruhn, Temple), or you can
- Buy a potion of Cure Disease from a Temple member in the Gnisis Temple
Sacrifice it to the altar in the center of the "Ash Mask" room, and then use the altar again. The real ash mask is revealed, and using it gives you the spell "Vivec's Touch" (cure common & blight) for free.
- Go to the Shurdan-Raplay mine, and cure the kwama queen.
- Once you've done this, you have two choices as to miners:
- While in Gnisis, ask around regarding your need to "recruit some miners"; eventually you'll be told that Ilasour Tansumiran needs work. He'll agree, if you've either talked about "recruit some miners" with Dondos, or if you've cured the kwama queen.
- Go to Savile Imayn in Tel Aruhn and tell her you need to "recruit some miners"; she'll sell you one for 200 gold. Talk to him if you like, but it's not neccessary.
- Talk to Dondos about your stronghold again, and another 5-6 days later your stronghold's 2nd stage should be done.
