Hortator Quests
Hortator Quests:
NOTE: If you're the top rank of any given House, some or all of its steps may be skipped. It'll be obvious which can be skipped, based on what the 1st person for the House, listed below, says.

Steps:
- Speak with Athyn Sarethi in Sarethi Manor in the giant crabshell in Ald'Ruhn. Ask him to name you the "Redoran Hortator".
- Athyn will agree to vote for you if you'll rescue his son.
- Go to Venim Manor, go into the "Right Wing" area, and note the door behind a tapestry in its NW section.
- Either pick the lock or steal the nearby key off the bench.
- Free Varvur, and lead him back to his father. (make sure that you don't lead him into the "Private Quarters" area, or Bolvyn Venim will attack, and you can't kill him yet)
- Now that Athyn agrees to support you as the Redoran Hortator, speak with the rest of the Redoran Councilors.
- Miner Arobar, Garisa Llethri, Llaren Ramoran, and Brara Morvayn will all agree now. All except Brara Morvayn are in their respective manors and should be simple to find; Brara is in the "Morvayn Quarters" within the "Redoran Council Hall", which is at the northern end inside the giant crabshell.
- Return to Athyn Sarethi and ask him again; he'll agree and give you the Ring of the Hortator. He'll also give you a letter to read.

| Become the Hlaalu Hortator | Type: Speechcraft (& possibly combat) quest |

Steps:
- Speak with Crassius Curio in Vivec's Hlaalu canton's Plaza area; he's in his manor. You have two choices with the prevect:
- If likes you at < 70%, he'll ask for a 1,000 gold bribe to name you the Hlaalu Hortator, or
- If you 'Persuade' him up to at least 70%, he'll agree if you give him either 500 gold... or a kiss (no, your gender doesn't matter)
- Next on the list is Dram Bero; go to Vivec's St. Olms canton's Plaza, and locate him inside the Haunted Manor. He'll agree with little trouble.
- With Yngling Half-Troll, in his manor (also in the St. Olms Plaza), you can either bribe him with 2,000 gold (1,000 if you're Hlaalu), or just get him to attack you. He's the only Hlaalu councilor you may kill and still get Hlaalu Hortator, though.
- Next, you should seek out Orvas Dren at his plantation; here, as well, you have a choice:
- You can blackmail him with a scroll you'll find in a small chest in his basement (careful, those guys bite down there),
- You can kill him, of course, or
- You can 'Persuade' him up to 70%, and tell him you want to protect Morrowind from Dagoth Ur & the Empire.
- With Orvas agreed or dead, Nevena Ules and Velanda Omani will instantly agree to name you the Hlaalu Hortator (otherwise, they just say they'll 'think about it'.
- Speak to Crassius Curio again, and you'll be named the Hlaalu Hortator and be given the Belt of the Hortator.

| Become the Telvanni Hortator | Type: Speechcraft or combat quest |

Steps:
- Speak with Aryon in Tel Vos about becoming the "Telvanni Hortator". He'll tell you that he'll vote for you, but that you should convince the other Telvanni councilors, and will have to kill Gothren.
- What he doesn't tell you is that you can kill any councilor who won't vote 'yes'... just make sure that at least one survives to name you their Hortator. (If you kill Aryon, the Telvanni Hortator robe appears in a crate near Turedus Talanian; yes, you can theoretically get two Telvanni Hortator robes if Aryon survives long enough to give you one)
- You should be able to convince Neloth with little effort; just get him to like you at least 70%.
- Therana'll be a bit more of a challenge; if your speechcraft is 30+, just distract her and she'll agree. Otherwise, make sure to 'Persuade' her to >= 80% and just ask her.
- Dratha, for females, is a pushover; males must persuade her up to at least 80%, then 'plead', and then she'll finally agree. Also, females will get 4 "Summon Golden Saint" scrolls; males will get just 1.
- Gothren, as Aryon said, will refuse to agree; kill him. He ought to attack if you ask him enough times, but you can always just get him to attack you.
- Speak to Aryon or another Telvanni councilor and you'll be named the Telvanni Hortator.
NOTE: If you're at least a Master in the Telvanni, you can assassinate every single Telvanni councilor... and then declare yourself Hortator in Nibani Maesa's presence. Wicked, no?
